PSYCHIC- IS IT ALL A LOAD OF HOCUS POCUS?

So.. this week has been an interesting week. For some reason since returning from the lovely USA  everything has seemed to go wrong. First the stupid hotel in Los Angeles messed up our payment and ended up charging me twice, then my phone decides to break at the exact same time and then I worked on the worst promo shift possible and for the first time I actually ended up walking out.  I think god was trying to tell me I should have stayed in LA. I also couldn't stop thinking about how I'm going to raise the funds for next year.

Knowing that I got into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and actually being able to see it in real life for the first time was amazing, but after returning home all I could seem to think was 'What if I can't raise the funds?' 'What if my dream is over before it's even started?'. I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself considering I still have nearly a year to go and my mom keeps trying to reassure me, but I can't help but think what if? I need these questions to be answered, so decided to take some action and go and see a psychic. Finding one was not the problem, I typed into google 'psychic readers in London' I was shocked by the amount of pages that came up. The tricky bit was figuring out which ones were scams and which ones were genuine psychics. I spent about two hours going through every profile until I came across the well-know psychic to the celebs 'Jane Wallace and Psychic Sisters'. They were relocating in Selfridges and were having a special offer on reading over the weekend. A half an hour reading was £40 instead of £60 and an hour was £80 instead of £100. If you wanted a reading with Jane Wallace herself a half an hour slot was £100. Although it was a little pricey I thought it was worth a try. I originally wanted a reading with Jane herself but I wasn't willing to pay £100 especially as I'm trying to save for LA, so I instead I picked a thirty minute session with a lady called Jackie Cox.

I got to Selfridges and was instantly greeted by Jackie. She took me into this small freezing cold room and before we even sat down the timer went on. I was expecting it to be dark with lots of smelling incense, candle and mysterious looking decorations, but it wasn't. It was just a normal room with plain white walls and a little table in the middle. I have to admit I was a little disappointed by this. Jackie Started by asking me what it was I wanted to find out. I explained that I was an actress and just got into an Academy in Los Angeles and was here to find out if I'd end up going and if I'd become successful in my career. She started by giving me a small turquoise stone saying that it would bring me luck in my future. She then took out the tarot cards and split them into three piles and asked me to pick one. Once I picked the set of cards I was asked to shuffle them thoroughly and place them back on the table. I sat there patiently awaiting my fate. Throughout the card reading Jackie would stop to chat with me about my acting career and telling me her experiences with a friend she knew who was an actor in the USA. Although I enjoyed the stories I did feel a little like the stories were going on for a while and I felt that this was deviating from reading. I didn't want to be rude and ask her to stop talking, so instead  I tried to stir the conversation back to cards.

After we finally got back on topic she mentioned that she could feel a lot of jealousy around me and there were many people that wouldn't support me due to this. This didn't surprise me one bit, this is definitely a negative point about this industry. People will unfortunately always be bitchy or unsupported due to jealousy but hay ho that's life. The haters are gonna hate, you just have to deal with it and move on. If you let that kind of thing bother you, it will just end up dragging you down. She then went on to tell me that she could not see me in England next year and could see me moving far away. This positivity continued throughout my reading and she went on to tell me that I will become very successful, gain an agent, marry a handsome man and becoming very rich. I have to admit I wasn't too convinced about this prediction. I mean it sounded amazing, I'm not going to complain, but doesn't it just sounds too good to be true? unrealistic? We don't live in a Disney movie, these sort of things don't happen to 'normal' girls, or do they?

We spoke for ages about my acting and I explained that I'm an Aries and I'm very impatient, If I want something I hate waiting for it. She kept telling me that my hard work will finally be recognised and I shouldn't let anything or anyone get in the way of reaching my goal.

Finally the timer rang and the thirty minute session was up. I can't say that I completely believe in my prediction, but I just its still a nice thought. I did come out of the session feeling a lot calmer and  excited about my new journey and if it was all a load of rubbish at least I can say I had a good therapy session :)
